Appointments
You can schedule an appointment by email one week in advance. Please notify us within 48 hours if you need to cancel. Appointments are one hour unless otherwise requested.
Location
We’re located on the first floor of the Target Atrium. See the map for details.
Group Size
For the best experience and safety of the artwork, we encourage groups of 15 people or fewer. For larger groups or classes, please ask about rotating groups through the space.
Selecting Collection Objects for Viewings
We suggest selecting 15 to 20 works for your appointment. You can view the collection online and select objects for your appointment or ask Lori Williamson, supervisor of the Print Study Room, for suggestions. Email the title, artist name, and accession number to lwilliamson@artsmia.org. Note: Due to size, some artworks aren’t available for viewing in the Print Study Room.
What Can I Bring with me into the Print Study Room?
You may use your phone, a laptop, or a pencil and notebook to take notes. We don’t allow food or drink, pens, backpacks, or large coats.
Can I Take Photos of the Artwork?
Yes, you can take photographs for research purposes with your phone or a camera. Alternatively, you can ask the supervising staff for an image of the artwork and we’ll email you a hi-res image.
