Minnesota Artists Exhibition Program (MAEP)
The Minnesota Artists Exhibition Program (MAEP) is a curatorial program at Mia dedicated to exhibiting and supporting artists living and working in the state. Founded in 1975 as a partnership between the museum and regional artists, the MAEP has become a unique, ongoing relationship that has lasted 50 years.
Today, the MAEP presents exhibitions in the 2,500-square-foot U.S. Bank Gallery. The program supports emerging and mid-career artists in realizing their proposed exhibition of new, ongoing, or recently finished artwork. A public program accompanies each exhibition.
MAEP Exhibitions are selected by Open Call or juried competition. Minnesota-based artists are encouraged to apply. Selected artists are provided with a stipend and participate at every stage in planning and installing their exhibition.
As the program celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2025, the MAEP remains committed to providing a platform for Minnesota’s diverse arts communities.
Support for the MAEP is provided by RBC Wealth Management.
